Ingredients
  

  • 1 can (15 ounces) of black beans,thoroughly drained and rinsed.
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (regular or gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional) canbe added for an extra kick of spiciness if desired.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • Burger buns
  • Feel free to select your preferred toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and more, to personalise your dish

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until they form a chunky paste.
  • Add the cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder (if using), salt, and pepper to the bowl. Thoroughly blend all the ingredients together to ensure a complete and harmonious mixture.
  • Allow the mixture to restfor approximately 10-15 minutes, giving the breadcrumbs ample time to absorbmoisture.
  • Partition the mixture into uniform portions and mold each portion into a patty shape. The quantity of patties you'll yield will vary, typically ranging from 4 to 6, depending on your desired size.
  • Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and heated through. Alternatively, you can grill the patties or bake them in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 20 minutes, flipping halfway through
  • Toast the burger buns lightly if desired.
  • Assemble your black bean quinoa burgers by placing the cooked patties onthe buns and adding your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion,avocado, or any condiments of your choice.
  • Serve the black bean quinoa burgers warm and enjoy!
